About the people who grow it

This coffee is sourced from family-owned farms organized around Cooperativa Agraria Fuente de Bendicion. This coop was founded in 2016 by a group of small coffee growers in San Juan Del Rio Coco, in the department of Madriz. San Juan del Rio Coco is becoming one of the new spots within Nicaragua where the coffee industry is expanding and developing new profiles. The region offers many excellent conditions for the productions of high-end coffees, but is less known than the more traditional regions like Matagalpa and Jinotega. Fuente de Bendicion's goal is to promote sustainable agricultural practices among its members and improve the quality of the flavor profile to gain access to consumers of specialty coffee and obtain better premiums for its 24 members.
The mountainous region in Northern Nicaragua is rich in volcanic soils, as well as lush forests and natural vegetation, making it a favorable region for coffee cultivation.
